Concept
São Filipe Branco is a fresh, light-bodied, and approachable wine that speaks of the warm Mediterranean climate of the Setúbal Peninsula where it is grown. This wine combines three major indigenous Portuguese white grapes, Fernão Pires (also known as Maria Gomes), Arinto, and Síria (also known as Roupeiro). These grapes offer a surprising level of bright and fresh acidity in spite of being grown in such a warm coastal climate making the wine a perfect pairing for grilled fish and summer salads. The wine is unoaked and emphasizes the fresh and ripe orchard fruit characteristics of the grapes while the nose is laden with aromas of citrus blossoms, honeysuckle, and bay laurel, making it an interesting and versatile wine for pairing with food.
