Concept
This wine truly encapsulates the ability of the Alentejo to produce ageworthy red wines that show an incredible level of concentration, elegance, and an ability to develop aromatically in the glass.
Named in honor of the founder of the winery, this wine represents the top-of-the-line for Adega Mayor. It’s made with a selection of the best grapes from the winery’s most established vineyard blocks which are vinified separately, undergoing an extensive period of malolactic fermentation and aging in French oak barrels before resting in bottles for up to a year before release.
The wine features the unique characteristics of Alicante Bouchet from the Alentejo, offering a dense deep purple wine with smoky notes of sweet tobacco, pepper, and licorice that is still fresh and lively on the palate.
